Holiday Party: What a great snowman themed holiday party filled with laughter and smiles! Thank you to our room moms, Mrs. Armistead and Mrs. Kakaraddi for coordinating the year-end event and coming up with the creative game ideas. Also, thank you to Mrs. Wheeler, Mrs. Neville-Murzi, and Mrs. Meehan, for attending to the fun snowman/games, creating a hot chocolate mug and decorating the delicious powdered sugar donuts with yummy chocolate chips was the best. A super thank you for all my parents that have contributed to all of our wonderful activities throughout the year.
Author’s Celebration Party: The second graders were all smiles when they read their peers books on informational writing. The students enjoyed critiquing each other's books. They also enjoyed the wonderful treats provided by the Acrey family. Thank you!
New Math Software Program: The students received their user id and password for the Redbird Math advanced learning can be done at home and at school. The user id is the students’ id and the password is the birth date. Please have them practice fact fluency for both addition and multiplication!
Spelling Bee: The spelling bee is coming! 2nd grade is very excited to participate in a spelling bee again this year. Spelling Bees at this grade level are really meant to provide students with opportunity to practice for future Spelling Bees. We will hold our classroom spelling bees in each student's reading and language arts classroom on Thursday, January 7, 2016. To help promote awareness of the spelling bee we would like students to wear yellow and black on the day of the spelling bee. A study guide list was sent out on Wednesday to help students prepare for the spelling bee.
Holiday Break Packet: A math and language arts packet was sent on this past week. Students can work on the packet during the break. If they return it on Wednesday, January 6, they will receive a prize and extra DOJO points! This is an optional activity!
